Emergency meetings may be called under certain circumstances.  The rule that should be applied is one of “Unusual circumstances require unusual actions”.  These are certainly not mandatory meetings, though maximum participation is encouraged. Elmer will not be exchanged at this meeting, but is certainly welcome to show up if he wants.

Not only is this good for building up the number of photo opportunities on the web-site, Elmer gets to see and experience new things which makes him that much smarter. The ED membership will reserve the right though (with a majority vote at the next regular meeting) to decide which pictures are suitable enough to be displayed."

Any member may be removed by a two-thirds vote whenever, in the discretion of the members at large, the best interests of Elmer's Disciples would be served by the removal of the member. Automatic removal may occur without a two-thirds vote of the members in the event of:

  • 1. Any member misses three consecutive board meetings without good excuse.
    2. Any member knowingly subjects Elmer to undue risk where breakage may occur.
    3. Any member acts is such a way that they are barred from entering the regular established meeting place.

Section 7

7.1 Replacement of Elmer:

While Elmer can never be replaced in our hearts, it may become necessary to look for a new "official" mascot for the regular meeting of the Elmer's Disciples membership. At the time where it has been witnessed that Elmer is no longer capable of attending regularly scheduled meetings without the assistance of glue (no relation) and/or duct tape the following must occur:

  • 1. A national talent search will be conducted, such that all of the membership are responsible for submitting a new nomination for the official mascot at the next regular meeting of the Board of Directors.
  • 2. At the next regular meeting of the Board of Directors, all members must present their nominations to the rest of the membership and answer any questions, etc. that the membership may have.
  • 3. The field of applicant's must be narrowed down to two by vote or by other various means that the President may determine at the time (not to exclude Rock, Paper, Scissors - Eany, meany, miney, moe - One potato, Two potato - etc.)
  • 4. A two-thirds vote of the membership will then be taken to elect the next official mascot.
  • In the event of a tie, staff from the regular established meeting place may be called in to cast the deciding vote. Once the official mascot has been elected, the rest of the membership may proceed with the indoctrination ceremony. Hazing of the newly elected official mascot is strictly prohibited and would constitute grounds for impeachment.
